Glasses are back! And it is exciting to see that the idea of eyeglasses is being transformed from a fashion crutch to a fashion statement. Frames are as important as any other accessories, and maybe even more as they are on your face. Glasses are a way to express individuality and immediately change your look. The key look right now is maybe a little nerdy but sexy. And have to say this is probably the first time I am excited to wear glasses. And here is my TOP 3:

Okuliare sú v móde! Najvzrušujúcejšou je ale skutočnosť, že dioptrická pomôcka povýšila na módny doplnok. Niečo na tom bude. Výber tých správnych rámov je minimálne tak dôležitý, ako výber akékoľvek iného doplnku. A hádam i viac, kedže je na vašej tvári. Je to skvelý spôsob vyjadrenia osobnosti, ktorá sa vo vás ukrýva, tak ako aj rýchla a bezbolestná cesta zmeny výzoru. Momentálnym trendom sú veľké hrubé rámy, ktoré pôsobia trošku prihlúplo, no zároveň strašne sexy. Keď nad tým tak premýšľam, toto je po prvýkrát, keď sa teším zo skutočnosti, že musím nosiť okuliare. This outfit reminds me my childhood and how me and my little brother used to live and breath for Sherlock Holmes, our "action" superhero:) So I would like to dedicate this post to everyone who likes "boyfriend" inspired fashion and to the best brother ever: I'll always be there for you!

Vonku sa zozimnilo a myslím, že nepotrvá dlho a uzrieme prvú snehovú vločku. Takže pleteniny nasadiť! Táto zima je predovšetkým o originálnych svetroch. A ak nenájdete žiaden, ktorý by uspokojil vaše módne chúťky, oblečte si ten, čo už máte. Len opačne.

Chanel, Christian Dior, Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Armani Privé, Givenchy...great editorial. And I guess you've already noticed that I love black-and-white photography as well. I'm simply amazed by the power of it. It conveys such a strong sense of mystique, drama and timelessness. Experimenting with black-and-white can add a whole new dimension to your pictures. Because of missing colour all the other elements have to be strong. Elements like the design, the shadows and light, the artistic interpretation.

Chanel, Christian Dior, Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Armani Privé, Givenchy...skvelý editoriál. A predpokladám, že ste si stihli všimnúť, že zbožňujem čiernobiele fotografie. Neviem to vysvetliť inak, ako že pre mňa majú neopísateľné čaro a tajomno. Ten zvláštny pocit dramatickosti a nadčasovosti. Čiernobiela dokáže vniesť do fotografií novú dimenziu. A preto, že nemôžete využiť silu farby, všetky ostané elementy musia byť silnejšie a presvedčivejšie. Elementy ako dizajn, tieňovanie a spôsob osvetlenia. Umelecká interpretácia.

I think I have a girl crush. Oh yes. I can't help myself when it comes to French women. I noticed Audrey for the first time in 2001 in Amelié. So thin and fragile but with such a strong personality. Then I saw Coco Avant Chanel last week. Watching the story before Chanel and the love triangle between Gabrielle, Étienne Balsan and Arthur "Boy" Capel was breathtaking!

Tak mám pocit, že som sa zaľúbila. Och áno. Som do nej úplne zbláznená. Nemôžem si pomôcť, keď ide o Francúzsky. Prvýkrát mi Audrey padla do oka ešte v roku 2001, vo filme Amelié. Také útle a jemne vyzerajúce žieňa, a pritom tak silná osobnosť. Nuž a minulý týždeň som ju videla v roli Gabrielle Chanel vo filme Coco Avant Chanel. Ani som nedýchala. A ten ľúbostný trojuholník!

Demi Moore. I've met her at the Gala premiere of The Joneses at the Toronto International Film Festival. Have to tell you she looked as amazing as in these pictures. And you know what I love about her the most? Her deep husky voice! .......and this Armani Privé blouse and Givenchy skirt:))

Ach, aké pravdivé. Ale to je presne Chanel: sofistikovanosť a elegancia sama o sebe. A ešte niečo: Chanel kabelka sa naozaj hodí úplne ku všetkému! To mi pripomenulo, že aj mne by sa taká veru zišla...hm...asi napíšem Ježiškovi...

Trick or treat?

I know. Halloween was three days ago. Well, I think we deserve to treat ourselves more often, don't you? So here it is, my dear followers, my treat just for you!
PS: Comfort is the most important factor in choosing men's underunderwear. As well as the quality. And Calvin Klein is worth a try.

V poriadku. Viem, že Halloween bol pred troma dňami. Ja si však myslím, že si zaslúžime osladiť život omnoho častejšie. A tak tu mám iba pre vás, moji milí, malý zákusok pre dnešný deň!
PS: Keď ide o pánske spodné prádlo, pohodlie je často ten najdôležitejší faktor. Tak ako i kvalita. A Calvin Klein stojí určite za skúšku.

Toronto Fashion Week Part 2

As I've promised, here are some more pictures from the Fashion Week. I still can hardly believe I was a part of it. It was really great. Most of the shows were amazig! Altough have to admit there were some things I couldn't get over with. Picture this: fancy tent, fancy people, fancy drinks, fancy music..people are having fun, they are sipping wine, getting their hair and makeup done by professionals and.............there is no coat check!!! Could you believe this? I agree. There is nothing fancy about a coat check. The word itself sounds so ordinarily. Of course, a lot of people had a driver or an assistant (or a husband:)) who would take care of this small "inconvenience" for them. But what about the rest of us - the regular people? We had to carry our coats and wet umbrellas with us, not mentioning all those big bags and purses full of work. That's what happens when you have to work prior to attending event like this. Another thing was that the organizers were so behind the schedule all the time. We had to wait for so long in the line before seeing an actual show. And after that we all had to leave the room while they were setting it up for a next show. So we were waiting and waiting again. And in case there were not enough seats available, we simply didn't get in. Amazing, isn't it?
So here are some useful tips in case you ever go to an event like this:

1) One bigger coat is much better to carry than a few layers of clothing.

2) Wear heels but have a pair of flats in your purse. After a few hours of standing you will appreciate them more than a glass of wine, trust me.

3) Make friends with people backstage, with bartenders, security, volunteers..anyone! They appreciate to see a friendly face for a change (nothing personal) and who knows, maybe next time you won't need to wait in the line or carry your coat with you;)

4) Pack a little snack, you don't want to leave the waiting line!

5) Don't drink too much, you don't want to leave the waiting line!

Despite all the negatives it was a great place to be. And I know it's not NY, Milan or Paris but after seeing most of the shows I really think Canada has a lot to offer when it comes to fashion.

Ako som vám sľúbila, mám pre vás zopár ďalších fotiek z Fashion Weeku. Ešte stále nemôžem uveriť tomu, že som bola jeho súčasťou. Väčšina prehliadok bola úchvatná. Aj keď priznávam, svrbí ma jazyk pri pomyslení na niektoré veci, čo sa týka organizačnej stránky. Predstavte si situáciu: šmrncovný stan, šmrncovní ľudia, šmrncovné nápoje, šmrncovná hudba. Ľudia sa zabávajú, popíjajú si vínko, nechávajú si zdarma urobiť účes a mejkap......a nikde žiadna šatňa! Verili by ste tomu? Ja viem, čo už len môže byť šmrncovného na takej šatni. Pravda je, že mnohí z prítomných mali so sebou svojho šoféra, asistentku či manžela, takže sa o banality typu "chýbajúca šatňa" nemuseli starať. Ale čo my ostatní, my smrteľníci?My sme museli svoje kabáty, dáždniky a kabelky držať v ruke celý čas. Ďalšou vecou bol neuveriteľný časový sklz. Na prehliadky sa čakalo v radoch nekonečne dlho a po každej jednej všetci museli opustiť miestnosť a vystáť si radu na ďalšiu. Najviac frustrujúca bola ale skutočnosť,že ak nemali dosť voľných miest, prehliadku ste mohli pozerať tak akurát v hale na obrazovke. Neuveriteľné? Aj preto mám pre vás niekoľko tipov pre prípad, že by ste sa vybrali na takýto Fashion Week:

1) Jeden, aj keď väčší kabát, sa nosí ľahšie ako viacej vrstiev oblečenia.

2) Dajte si podpätky, v kabelke však majte pribalené aj balerínky. Po toľkom vystávaní v rade ich oceníte viac, ako pohár vína.Verte mi.

3) Skamaráťte sa s ľuďmi zo zákulisia, barmanmi, ochrankármi, dobrovoľníkmi...hocikým. Oni budú radi, že pre zmenu vidia milú tvár (nič osobného) a vám sa môže stať, že takto o rok už nebudete musieť vystávať v rade či nosiť so sebou všade svoj kabát.
4) Pribaľte si so sebou nejaký snack, nechcete predsa stratiť svoje miesto v rade.

5) Nepite veľa, nechcete predsa stratiť svoje miesto v rade.

Napriek všetkým negatívam to bol skvelý zážitok. A hoci to nie je NY, Miláno ani Paríž, po tom, ako som videla väčšinu prehliadok, môžem spokojne vyhlásiť, že Kanada má čo svetu módy ponúknuť.
