The reality is I am a bad photographer. Today, I even forgot the battery in the charger ! Oh, man. I guess I should stick to writing and let the professionals do the work. Hopefully one day, I will work with an experienced photographer. He'll be taking all those amazing pictures and I'll be there just as a decoration piece. Don't worry, I still have some pictures for you but in the meantime, here is a short video that give you a bit better idea what is this whole Canadian fashion all about. And I tell you, there are some incredible pieces there!

Pravda je taká, že nie som dobrý fotograf. Ale vôbec. A k tomu som si dnes ešte zabudla aj baterku v nabíjačke, hlavne že foťák na krku. Asi mi neostáva nič iné, len sa držať svojho písania a prenechať fotenie na profesionálov. A možno raz budem pracovať s takým jedným. On bude úžasne fotiť a ja budem len ako príjemná dekorácia. Napriek všetkému budem mať pre vás zopár fotiek, ale potrvá to, kým to dám celé dokopy. Zatiaľ aspoň krátke video, nech reku viete, o čom je celá tato kanadská móda. A poviem vám, niektoré kúsky sú naozaj úžasné!

Avedon Fahion

It's Fashion Week in Toronto and it seems to me that things can not get any better (for now anyways, haha). I've got personal invitations to the couple shows and I can not even describe how happy I was. I probably won't sit in the front row like Gradance Dore or little Tavi but I'm still very excited! For now, I have some great pictures for you captured by fabulous Richard Avedon (1923-2004) who revolutionized fashion editorial photography. He brought fashion to life by shooting models in motion and by placing them in the settings that ranged from the exotic to the whimsical. Dramatic, unconventional and glamorous at the same time.

V Toronte sa tento týždeň koná Fashion Week a tak sa mi zdá, že to nemôže byť už ani lepšie (teda myslím momentálne, haha). Dostala som pozvánky na niekoľko módnych prehliadok a asi vám nemusím hovoriť, aká som bola z toho celá mimo. A hoci nebudem asi sedieť v prvej rade ako Garance Dore či malá Tavi, neviem sa dočkať. Zatiaľ mám pre vás niekoľko fotografií zachytených objektívom úžasného módneho fotografa Richarda Avedona (1923-2004), muža, ktorý spôsobil prevrat tým, že fotil modelky v pohybe, na miestach exotických, bizardných. Dramatické, nekonvenčné a glamúr zároveň.

Just 23-years old who finds inspiration in everything and everywhere. From 1940’s lingerie found inside the pages of Vogue or the infamous Crazy Horse in Paris to old Bond movies. He designs with an ideal girl in mind – fun, confident and aware of her sexuality. PS: I like how the styling was completed with lots of plane T-shirts and tights.

Len 23-ročný návrhár, ktorý nachádza inšpiráciu vo všetkom a všade. Od fotografií spodného prádla rokov 40.tych uverejnených na stránkach Vogue, cez neslávny Crazy Horse v Paríži až po staré Bondovky. Jeho múzou je žena vtipná, sebaistá a vedomá si svojej sexuality. PS: Veruže sa mi pozdáva, ako nápadito sú tu skombinované návrhárove kúsky s jednoduchými tričkami a pančuškami.

It's still not very warm outside but after wearing so many layers for almost five months I am ready for something lighter, flowy, with beautiful draping and subtle accents, daring hems and ruffled necklines... I feel refreshed just from looking at this editorial!

Vonku stále nie je veľmi teplo, ale po takmer piatich mesiacoch nekonečného vrstvenia som už pripravená na niečo ľahšie, splývavé, s nádherným riasením a s nežnými akcentami, odvážnym lemovaním a volánovitými výstrihmi... Pozriem na tento editoriál a hneď sa cítim akási sviežejšia a nabudená.

CHIC SHOES(day)

For brave girls only! Designers from Jil Sander came up with a shoe that combines quite brutal industrial and the popular environmental trend. They united wooden platform with the heel made in the form of a bent metal pin. Auch!

Len pre ženy statočnice! Návrhári z Jil Sander vytvorili topánky, ktoré spájajú pomerne brutálne premyselno s populárnym environmentálnym trendom. Zlúčili drevené podrážky s podpätkom vytvoreným z ohnutého kovu. Áááu!

There is a distinct futuristic, high fashion look to everything she creates and wears. And that's why I like her. Vika's designs are structured, geometric and wearable. She knows how to play with shape and volume. So I've asked her and she agreed to answer some questions for me:

1. Where do you find inspiration for your designs?

It's the same with love: I live and breath, so I inspire...

2. Is there anything you would never wear?

Fur coat. Or any other fur. Just imagine you are killing an animal and putting on their skin.

3. If you could choose one item that every woman should have in her closet, what would it be (besides LBD, jeans and trench)?

I would not advice jeans any way - just a dress. Woman is about a dress!

Na tom, čo nosí a navrhuje je niečo tak futuristické, štruktúrované, geometrické, s high fashion nádychom. No najmä nositeľné. Aj to sa mi naozaj páči. Vika presne vie, ako sa pohrať s rôznymi tvarmi a štruktúrami. Poprosila som ju, či by mi neopovedala na pár otázok a tu sú jej odpovede:

1. Odkiaľ čerpáš inšpiráciu?

To je ako s láskou. jednoducho žijem, dýcham a tvorím.

2. Čo by si si na seba neobliekla za nič na svete?

Kožuch a ostatnú kožušinu. Tá hrozná predstava, že zabijete zviera a potom na sebe nosíte jeho kožu.

3. Ktorý kúsok by podľa teba mala mať každá žena vo svojom šatníku vynímajúc otrepané malé čierne, rifle a trenčkot?

Ja by som ani rifle nespomenula. Pre mňa sú to jednoznačne šaty. To je to, čo nás robí ženami.

Thinking of taking fashion to a higher level? Sergio Rossi is famous for his creations and unique embellishments. The blue and yellow orange on these boots make a good contrast to the brown suede which looks quite sexy and stylish. And very 70's?:))) In my mind, there isn't a better person who can pull it off like Giovanna Battaglia does. Waw.

Premýšľate nad tým, že by ste pozdvihli módu do nejakých tých vyšších sfér? Sergio Rossi je preslávený svojimi kreáciami a unikátnymi zdobeniami. A všimnite si, ako modrá a žlto-oranžová vyniknú s hnedým semišom vytvárajúc tak naozaj sexy a štýlovú kombináciu. Reku ako vystrihnuté zo 70.rokov? Poviem vám, neviem si predstaviť nikoho lepšieho, kto by vedel "nosiť" takéto skvosty lepšie ako Giovanna Battaglia.

Getting nude

So here is the question: How to wear nudes without looking washed out? Start with picking the right fabrics and forget too tight silhouettes that look like another layer of skin. Your nudes should drape and float away from your body. You can layer them to create a romantic feminine look or you can combine them with black and darker neutral tones like brown, navy and gray.

Otázka znie: Ako nosiť telové farby a nevyzerať pri tom ako vypľutá? Začnite s výberom toho správneho materiálu a vyvarujte sa príliš obtiahnutých strihov, ktoré by sa na vás len prisali ako druhá koža. V tomto prípade sú lepšími voľnejšie, splývavé strihy. Pre ženskejší, romantickejší vzhľad navrstvite, inak kombinujte s ďalšími farbami, najlepšie s čiernou či tmavšími odtieňmi hnedej, modrej a sivej.

I've decided to pay a tribute to Sandra Bullock. Why her? Because she just won an Oscar for the Best Actress in a Leading Role and a Razzie at the same time. What a girl! But mostly because she is really down to earth, because she was a cheerleader in high school, because her favorite time of the day is dusk, because her favorite drinks are beer and tequila and because she is simply amazing.

Rozhodla som sa vzdať poklonu Sandre Bullock. Prečo práve jej? Lebo získala Oskara za Najlepšiu herečku v hlavnej úlohe a Zlatú malinu zároveň. Ale aj preto, lebo je naozaj prirodzená, lebo bola roztlieskavačkou na strednej škole, lebo jej obľúbenou časťou dňa je súmrak, lebo jej najobľúbenejšími nápojmi sú pivo a tequila a hlavne preto, že je jednoducho úžasná.
