I absolutely love editorials where models showcase emotions through body language. Very often it's because of the plain backround behind them and the reality that you are not distracted by it. Models, their clothes and accessories get all the attention. That's what I like about it.

Naozaj zbožňujem editoriály, v ktorých modelky prejavujú emócie. Častokrát je to kvôli jednoduchému pozadiu a skutočnosti, že vás nič iné nerozptyľuje, a tak celú svoju pozornosť venujete modelke, tomu, čo má na sebe a všetkým jej doplnkom. A to je to, čo sa mi na tom páči.

My most favourite show from Toronto Fashion Week.Once again. Romona Keveza and her evening wear and couture bridal collection. Her designs makes Canadians proud. Magnificent and timeless!!!!

Moja jednoznačná víťazka z posledného Fashion Weeku v Toronte. Romona Keveža a jej večerno svadobná couture kolekcia na jar/leto 2011. Kanada má byť teda na čo hrdá. Nech žije veľkolepá a večná krása!!!

This picture was taken by one of my best friends, Zuzka. It means so much to me because she is not really into fashion and still, she was thinking about me and my love for street style while visiting London. She is not a professional (although I think she is), never took any photography classes and her pictures are beyond amazing! Túto fotografiu mám od jednej zo svojich najbližších kamarátok, Zuzky. Znamená pre mňa veľa, najmä preto, že Zuzka, povedzme si to pekne na rovinu, nie je na módu zaťažená tak ako ja či vy. Napriek tomu pri jej nedávnej návšteve Londýna myslela na mňa, na môj blog i na moju zamilovanosť do pouličnej módy. A hoci nie je žiaden vyškolený profesionál (pre mňa je), jej fotografie sú úchvatné! Cítiť z nich všetku tú lásku a oduševnenie, ktoré do fotenia vkladá. CHIC SHOES(day)

So I've already started my annual hunt for perfect winter boots but no success so far. It seems quite difficult to find boots that would have all of my 3 MUST HAVES: 1. Eye-catching; 2. Comfortable; 3. Warm. I just discovered these Faith chocolate faux fur ankle boots and. they seems perfect. Well, I mean perfect for wearing with tucked in trousers or skirts. And I am not really a big "tucked in" girl. Neither a "skirt" one. But they are sooo cute!

Svoju každoročnú hru na hľadanie tých pravých zimných čižiem som už odštartovala. Zatiaľ bez úspechu. Z akýchsi nevysvetliteľných príčin neviem nájisť žiadne, čo by spĺňali moje 3 požiadavky: 1. príťažlivé pre oko, 2. pohodlné, 3. teplé. To chcem tak veľa? Práve som objavila tieto čokoládové čižmičky značky Faith s umelou kožušinkou. Zdalo by sa, že by mohli obstáť vo výberovom konaní, ale keď tak na ne pozerám dlhšie, hodia sa skôr k sukni alebo k zastrčeným nohaviciam. A ja nie som veľmi na zastrčené nohavice. Ani na tie sukne. Škoda. Ale inak sú rozkošné, no nie?

Style of Power

Well, hello my dear fashionistas! As I promised, here are first photos from Toronto Fashion Week. The theme was the Style of Power and a few trends became clear: stripes and ruffles and as for colours khaki, orange and lime. There were some great designs but also some bad styling. And also standing ovations. We got it all. Nice venue, but no coat check. Once again. But what I found most difficult was taking pictures and actually enjoying the shows at the same time. So didn't take as many as I wished for. Think I need to get an assistant or at least another two hands and another set of eyes for the next one;) Overall, it was a great week and will have some more pictures for you soon! 

Zdravím vás, milí moji módni nadšenci! Ako som vám sľúbila, prinášam vám prvé fotky z toronského Fashion Weeku. Hlavnou témou bola Štýl moci a medzi trendy, ktoré ovládli prehliadkové mólo patrili pruhy, volány a farby kaki, oranžová a citrónovožltá. Skvelé kolekcie striedali menej vydarené, nie veľmi dobrý stajling jednej vystriedal standing ovations pri druhej. Miesto konania bolo vskutku krásne, aj keď zase raz chýbala šatňa na kabáty. Ako celok to bol skvelý týždeň, až mi je ľúto, že som nefotila toľko, čo som plánovala. Jednoducho som si nevedela pri fotení užívať prehliadky naplno. Potrebovala by som asistenta. Alebo aspoň ešte dve ruky či ďalší pár očí. Tak či onak, už čoskoro sa s vami podelím o ďalšie fotky!

Have you seen the film Grey Gardens with Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore? This Vogue Spain editorial was very much inspired by it. And I feel inspired by this beautiful clutter. Suddenly, I don't feel that bad about the mess I have in my closet these days. I guess that's what happens when you are running around from one place to another and not even have time to stop for a second and take a breath. And the weather doesn't help either. But I feel much better now. Forget calling professional organizer, I wanna meet the set stylist!!!!

Videli ste film Grey Gardens s Jessicou Lange a Drew Barrymore v hlavnej úlohe? Ak áno, tak potom uznáte sami, ako veľmi bol tento editoriál z nového čísla španielskeho Vogue filmom inšpirovaný. Nuž a ja som zase inšpirovaná týmto tak nádherne a dokonale vyzerajúcim neporiadkom. Zrazu sa necítim až tak hrozne pri pomyslení, aký výbuch mám momentálne doma v skriniach. To je tak, keď nemám čas zastaviť sa aj keď len na chviľku a zhlboka sa nadýchnuť. A počasie si tiež robí, čo chce. Zabudnite na profesionálneho organizátora, chcem sa stretnúť s tým, čo pripravil pozadie na fotenie!!!

I've read so many articles about fashion in Canada and how Canadians are not really into fashion as much as in US or Europe. Have to admit I was quite worried when we've decided to move here. Thought we would have to live in parkas most of the time!!!! But so far so good:) I can tell you stories. One time....OK, back to Leyla! Met her at the Fashion Week this Tuesday. Doesn't she look  Oh So Chic in this "hooded" sweater from her Grandma's closet?

Toľkokrát som čítala články o tom, ako Kanaďania nie sú veľmi na módu a neobliekajú sa štýlovo tak ako Európania či Američania. Priznám sa, že keď sme sa sem mali presídliť, tiež som sa obávala, že tu budeme musieť väčšinu mesiacov žiť oblečení v pérovke. Je to však inak. O tom, čo a ako by som vám ale mohla rozprávať hodiny. Takže, ono je to vlastne celé.... Ale späť k Leyle, ktorú som stretla na Fashion Weeku. No nevyzerá v tom svetri od babičky eňo ňuňo? 

The Nightbird

I feel like after all that colour we saw on the runways for the next season, my eyes need to rest. Did you know that that's actually one of the reasons why you can find black and white pictures in almost every editorial? Anyways, this week is all about fashion in Toronto so I am off to attend couple shows. And we'll talk about that more next week. 

Po všetkých tých farbách a farebných kombináciách z kolekcií na budúcu sezónu cítim, že moje oči nevyhnutne potrebujú oddych. Vedeli ste, že práve oddych pre oko je za takmer každou čiernobielou fotografiou, ktorú nájdete vo väčšine módnych editoriálov? Tak pekne odpočívajte, mňa čaká okrem iného aj Fashion Week v Toronte, odkiaľ samozrejme podám správu. Pravdepodobne budúci týždeň.

No aký skvelý spôsob okamžitého rozjasnenia chladných jesenných dní! Stačí si obuť nové Rodarte topánky so svietiacim opätkom. Inak čím viac na ne hľadím, tým viac mi pripomínajú prácu Alexandra McQueena. Vám nie?

One of the most influential designers. And if you like him as much as I do, you should definitely get his book. It includes over 200 of his iconic works for both Gucci and YSL. 

Narodil sa v Texase v roku 1962. Je neskutočne príťažlivý. Rozumie ženám hádam lepšie ako ktokoľvek iný. Verí, že za svoj úspech nevďačí ani tak svojmu talentu, ako energii. Denne spáva len 2 až 3 hodiny, pričom má pri posteli papieriky na poznámky pre prípad, že ho niečo v noci napadne. To je Tom Ford. Jeden z najuznávanejších módnych návrhárov. A ak ho obdivujete tak veľmi ako ja, určite si zadovážte túto knihu. Obsahuje viac ako 200 fotografií jeho práce ešte z čias, keď navrhoval pre Gucci a YSL.
