SAG Awards 2011

This award show tends to be little bit more relaxed than the others. And so there really wasn't any WAW moment for me. I saw many "pretties", many "OKs" and the ones I really liked were: Clare Danes in LV, January Jones in Carolina Herrera (what a different look from GG!), Eva Longoria in Georges Hobeika, Mila Kunis in McQueen, Natalie Portman in Azzaro (finally the baby bump), Hilary Swank in Versace (love her hair and the dress), Julia Stiles in Monique Lhuillier, Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta. Tina Fey looked red carpet beautiful (finally!!!!). Most stunning couple? Annette Bening and Warren Beatty. And here are those who got my thumbs down. I leave H.B.Carter out of this and go for a little bit less obvious ones: Christina Hendricks reminded me of Morticia from Adams Family, Winona Ryder looked like a Runaway Bride who took someone else's purse by mistake on her way out, Kate Mara looked a bit like an earthwarm (so sorry) and Jane Lynch or shall we say "Always a Bridesmaid, Never a Bride" from 80's? As for Nicole Kidman, it's half and half. I liked her Nina Ricci dress but would go for statement earrings instead of necklace and I think black colour is too harsh for her. Princess moment of the night? Angie Harmon in Monique Lhuillier.

Toto udeľovanie cien je o niečo uvoľnenejšie ako te ostatné a tak to vyzeralo aj na červenom koberci. Žiadne WAW sa u mňa nekonalo. Väčšina vyzerala pekne, niektorí OK. Za tých, čo sa mi páčili veľmi, vyberám: Clare Danes, January Jones, Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman, Hilary Swank, Eva Longoria, Julia Stiles, Lea Michele. Tina Fey vyzerala neobvykle krásne (konečne!) a mojím NAJ párom večera sú Annette Bening a Warren Beatty. A teraz k tým, čo si odo mňa vyslúžili "palec nadol". Vynechám H.B. Carter a zameriam sa na tie možno menej očividné(?): Christina Hendricks v čiernom župane vyzerala ako Morticia z Rodiny Adamsovcov, Winona Ryder ako Nevesta na úteku, ktorá cestou uchmatla z vešiaka omylom niekomu kabelku, Kate Mara mi pripomínala dážďovku a Jane Lynch"navždy družičku, nikdy nevestu"z 80.rokov. Tak napoly je u mňa Nicole Kidman, ktorej šaty boli krásne, no náhrdelník by som vymenila za výraznejšie náušnice a mám pocit, že čierna je pre ňu príliš drastická. Princeznovský moment večera? Angie Harmon in Monique Lhuillier.

Beautiful Sculptures

Draping, draping, rock crystal brooches and yet another draping. I won't lie - when it comes to red carpets, I love drama. And this collection is full of it. If it's up to me (and I know I can't compete with her stylist Rachel Zoe), I would dress Anne Hathaway (host of  Academy Awards) in one of Stephane's gowns. And not only her. 

Riasenie, riasenie, veľké kryštáľové brošne a zase riasenie. Nebudem klama - keď ide o červený koberec, preferujem drámu. A táto kolekcia priam kričí dramatickosťou. Ak by bolo po mojom (a viem, že sa nemôžem porovnávať s jej súčasnou štylistkou Rachel Zoe), na Oskary by som obliekla Anne Hathaway (hostiteľku večera) do šiat práve z tejto kolekcie. A nielen ju.

Madly In Love With...

Elie Saab is one of the reasons why I'm glad I'm a woman. Now I just need to figure out how can I get him to send me one of his magnificient gowns...  Elie Saab je jedným z dôvodov, prečo som rada, že som žena. Už len musím vymyslieť, ako ho presvedčiť, aby mi poslal aspoň jedny z jeho úžasných šiat... Ďalšie fotografie nájdete, veď vy už určite viete kde. Prečo vlastne Facebook? Zistila som, že sa tam dajú fotografie natiahnuť omnoho rýchlejšie (takže to tam máte takmer tesne po prehliadkach), no najmä vám umožním komentovať jednotlivé modely zvlášť. Môže byť? Ale teraz už poďme zase na chvíľku rozjímať....

My current object of infatuation Angelique - Michele Mercier - had a big influence on today's post. We all know that she looks ravishing in women's clothes (particularly from the 17th Century) and a long hair but I am really cheering for this look! I find there is that "I don’t want to be seen as a sex object’" thing behind the short hair....Or maybe it just has something to do with my obsession for pixie cuts...So what's your opinion regarding long hair vs. short hair and sexuality?

Môj momentálny objekt záujmu je Angelika, inak aj herečka Michele Mercier. Preto aj dnešný post. Dlhé husté vlasy a ženské šaty (najmä tie zo 17.storoča) jej očividne prostanú, u mňa však vyhráva všetkými desiatimi tento krátky strih. Akoby kričal do sveta "Ja nechcem byť sexuálnym objektom!" A možno má s tým, že sa mi tak páči, niečo spoločné moja posadnutosť pixie strihom... A ešte otázočka: Ako vy vnímate dlhé či krátke vlasy u ženy a sexuálnosť?

Keď už spomínam doplnky, inak aj moju najobľúbenejšiu tému...Ich úloha je naozaj významná pri definovaní vlastného individuálneho štýlu. Do I really need to say this loud? A SCARF should be the ultimate accessory for every man! Think whatever you want but the truth is that it gives the outfit a particoular touch of elegance.

Naozaj to musím ešte vysloviť? Základným doplnkom oblečenia každého muža by mala byť ŠATKA. ŠÁL. Volajte to po svojom. Nič ale nepridá na elegancii tak veľmi, ako práve tá (ten).

Michelle, My Belle...

The dress was a mess at the Golden Globes last Sunday but I guess it's pretty tough to compete with her "Academy Awards 2006" look (here). I feel like I might hurt her feelings by putting her on my Worst Dressed List (although I doubt she knows about me or my blog) so I want to dedicate her today's post. She is beautiful, charismatic and don't know why but she reminds me Tinker Bell from Peter Pan. Good news is she's got it right in the hair trend department. Don't you just love her platinum blonde pixie? Wish I would find a courage one day and chop my hair off. I used to have short hair before but man, oh man, it took forever to grow it back!!!! 

To, že je šaty, ktoré mala v nedeľu na udeľovaní Zlatých Glóbusov neboli žiadna výhra, vieme. Ale asi je ťažké súperiť s tým, ako neskutočne vyzerala na Oskaroch v roku 2006 (tu). Tak či onak, cítim, akoby som sa jej mojím zaradením dotkla (aj keď je mi jasné, že o mne, ani o tomto blogu nemá ani tušenia), a tak to chcem napraviť.  Venujem jej dnešný post. Krásnej a charizmatickej Michelle Williams, ktorá mi nesmierne pripomína vílu Tinker Bell z Petra Pana. Dobrou správou je, že Michelle má jasno, čo sa trendov v účesoch týka. Kto by aj nemiloval jej platinovoblonďavý pixie zostrih?! Tak veľmi by som sa nechala ostrihať, ale keď si pomyslím, ako mi naposledy neskutočne dlho rástli vlasy späť....ááááááááách...

Golden Globes 2011, Part 2 (UPDATED)

To make it short(er) today: Milla Jovovich - stunning as usually. Amber Riley from Glee looked ravishing in Oliver Tolentino, Leighton Meester was drowning in Burberry Prorsum. (Does anyone has a rescue wheel???) Michelle Williams - the biggest disappointment for me personally. This Valentino dress is really sweet but more for a Garden party than the Golden Globes. (Loves Me, Loves Me Not....) And it's sad because she knows how to look glamorous. Jennifer Love Hewitt? Maybe not very flattering dress for her body overall but I think she did look beautiful. Like the lack of jewellery that shows off her toned shoulders and collarbones. Btw, her white dress as well as the red one Christina Hendricks was wearing, are both from Canadian designer Romona Keveza which I truly adore. Not mentioning that I had the pleasure to sit on her runway show:) Let's finish it up with Jennifer Lopez, can we? The ultimate Latin diva. Here wearing Marchesa to the Afterparty. Fun and flirty. Forget Selena, ugly duckling just turned into a beautiful swan!

Kedže články o červených kobercoch sú naozaj obsiahle, čo sa fotiek aj textu týka, dúfam, že mi prepáčite iba tú angličtinu. A reku aspoň sa potrénujete:) Ale aby ste nepovedali, že vás nemám rada, tak to po slovensky aspoň celé zhrniem. Róby sa vo väčšine prípadov naozaj vydarili, bolo ťažké vybrať tri naj. Ale dobre. Začnem January Jones, ktorá spomedzi všetkých tých víl Lomničiek nádherne vyčnievala. Zmyselne. No a čo, že ukázala kus nahého tela. Vyzerať ako ona, ukážem ho tiež. Ale aby to nebolo len o tom, u mňa zvíťazila aj svojím účesom a mejkapom. Krásna bola aj Angelina, asi aj vďaka tomu, že udržala decentne zahalenú svoju vychudnutú postavu. A tá smaragdovo zelená, juj! Svoje top trio dopĺňam o skvostnú Anne Hathaway. Jeden glóbus za najlepšie oblečenú pre ňu a jej štylistku Rachel Zoe.
Čo sa týka najhoršie oblečených, je to bez rozmýšľania Heidi Klum, ktorá sa celá akosi stratila v preklade, aj na koberci. Mimochodom, nie nadarmo experti doporučujú nosiť výrazné buď oči alebo pery. Druhou (ne)obľúbenou bola Michelle Williams, ktorá ma sklamala na celej čiare priamkovitej. Tieto "Ľúbi ma, neľúbi ma" šaty od Valentina by viac vyzneli na záhradnej párty ako na Glóboch. Nuž a napokon Christina Aguilera, alebo inak aj malá morská víla menom Jaternička. Šaty jej boli zjavne malé a výstrih zase priveľký.

Golden Globes 2011

First of all: Yey to Natalie Portman and her Golden Globe. She deserved it. But let's talk about red (or should I say green?) red carpet. Green was one of the surprising trend colours and yet all the ladies looked amazing in it. Especially Angelina Jolie in her emerald green Versace. Then there was a lot (and I mean a lot!) of nudes, pinks, reds and blacks. 

MY FAVOURITES: January Jones in Versace (and yes, it's a bit revealing but hey, she is the current face of Versace and she can pull it off on the red carpet), Scarlett Johansson in Ellie Saab, Piper Perabo in Oscar de la Renta, Carrie Underwood in Badgley Mischka, Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta, Natalie Portman in Viktor&Rolf, Olivia Wilde in Marchesa, Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad, Mila Kunis in Vera Wang, Eva Longoria in Zac Posen, Megan Fox in Armani Prive, Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive, Catherine Zeta-Jones in Monique Lhuillier, Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuillier, Julianne Moore in Lanvin and Claire Danes in Calvin Klein. As for men, I think they simply can't look bad in tuxedo no matter what. Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp just  kicked it up a notch with their own personal touches.

Sandra Bullock's Jenny Peckham dress was stunning but was quite distracted by her hair "helmet", Christina Aguilera looked a bit like a sausage in a shape of mermaid with a way too low neckline. And then we had Halle Berry who was beautiful but her dress looked more like a lingerie and nothing I haven't seen on her before. BORING!!! "Best" for the last. Heidi Klum. I have just one question - WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE???? Wrong dress, wrong makeup, wrong everything. Now I am thinking: was that even Heidi Klum? Well, wherever she was planning to go afterwards, it seems to me that Gabourey Sidibe and Helena Bonham Carter were planning to go with her... So who is your favourite "Goldie"?
