Everyday Luxury

Every time the seasons change, the malls change with them. We see new colors and new decorations and promotions, but perhaps most noticeably, we see the changes in the windows of clothing shops: big, vibrant displays seem to pop up all over the place proclaiming the newest styles to go with the seasons, accompanied with carefully dressed mannequins and signs about sales. For those particularly concerned with staying in fashion, this can be an exciting change every single time; but, unavoidably, it can also be a bit exhausting, and a bit repetitive. This is why it can be nice to escape the basic trends pushed on you at your local malls and try something a bit different (but still fashionable) now and then. For example, this Fall try looking into some higher-end fashion by popular and respected designer brands such as Malene Birger and others.
Top designers offer a number of options every season that are simply of a higher quality than just about anything you typically get at an average shopping mall. Granted, of course, you will usually need to spend more for something from an established label or designer. However, the real beauty of high-end fashion is that it gives you a whole new range of options that can help you to look your very best in any season and with any image. Do not make yourself dependent on everyday magazines and store windows; this Fall, get out there and find something that you think is both fashionable and unique.

Top návrhári ponúkajú každú sezónu široké množstvo možností. Áno, s kvalitou súvisia aj vyššie ceny, odmenou vám však budú kúsky kvalitné, nadčasové, módne a vskutku jedinečné. Niečo, čo vám nedá žiaden obchod, ani výklad.

Who wouldn't want to sit in the garden right now? Invite some friends over, have a cup of tea...Just make sure you don't fall asleep in the sun because you could easily end up like my friend who has sunglasses tattooed on her face now. Poor baby...My thoughts are with you.

Kto by teraz nechcel sedieť v záhrade? Pozvať si pár kamarátok, dať si s nimi čaj o piatej...V každom prípade si treba dávať pozor, aby sa vám vaše "ľahkomyselné" vysedávanie na slniečku nevypomstilo ako mojej kamarátke, ktorá má od včera na tvári doslova vytetované slnečné okuliare...chúďatko.

I've never been a big fan of Coco Rocha (Sorry Coco!). But I have to say, these pictures are simply stunning and I really feel I am ready to start working on our relationship...Have a great "breezy" weekend!

Nikdy som nebola veľký fanúšik modelky Coco Rocha (prepáč Coco!). Avšak po zhliadnutí týchto fotografií, ktoré sú mimochodom skvostné, som sa rozhodla, že som pripravená popracovať na našom vzťahu...Krásny a "vetristý" víkend drahí moji!

There is a reason why I love my silver studded gladiator sandals. You know how much I am into shiny things. Now imagine how excited I was when I saw this vintage YSL skirt. It's heavenly beautiful. And the way Liz has paired it with a bright yellow Zara shirt was a great idea. Looks fresh and glamorous at the same time.

To, že na svoje strieborné vybíjané gladiátorky mám najradšej zo všetkých mojich topánok má dôvod. Veď viete. Prosto zbožňujem všetko, čo sa bliští. Nečudo, že som bola celá bez seba, keď som natrafila na tieto fotografie. Tá sukňa je božia. A to, ako ju Liz dopasovala žltým topom zo Zary bola skvelá voľba. Vyzerá sviežo a glamour zároveň.

Buttoned Up

There is something calming about this picture. It's like she just got out the shower, combed her hair with the fingers, put a fresh white shirt on and posed for a photographer. White shirt, the most versatile element in your wardrobe. Picture perfect. 

Niečo na tejto fotografii je nesmierne upokojujúce. Akoby práve vyšla z sprchy, prehrabla si vlasy prstami, navliekla na seba novú bielu košeľu a zapózovala fotografovi. Biela košeľa, ten najverzatilnejší kúsok v každej skrini. Dokonalosť sama o sebe.

I fell in love. From that very moment I saw them. Sperry Top-Sider Southport wedges. I could almost see myself on the yacht, feeling the wind blowing in my hair, sailing away who knows where... 

Tak do týchto som sa zamilovala na prvý pohľad. Sperry Top-Sider. Už sa vidím na jachte, s vetrom vo vlasoch a každodennými problémami hodenými za hlavu plaviac sa ktoviekam...

Haute Couture

There is nothing like Haute Couture in Paris. It shows the real skills and artistry of the fashion designers. Valentino, Gaultier, Elie Saab, Givenchy and Dior. Love them all. But my absolutely favourite is Stephane Rolland. Every single piece was just mind-blowing. Real art. As for Dior this year, it was for the first time without John Galliano as a creative director. And I know that it was mentioned so many times before that Dior is about people behind the label not just Galliano but I am sorry, this collection was a proof that nobody can replace him. Not that easily anyways. Not even the man who has worked with him for 23 years. 

Absolútne nič sa nevyrovná Haute Couture v Paríži. Tu sa totiž ukáže skutočné nadanie a zručnosť módnych návrhárov. Valentino, Gaultier, Elie Saab, Givenchy a Dior. Moji naj. Tým najviac obdivovaným je ale Stephane Rolland. Každý jeden z jeho modelov je myseľ zastavujúci. Skutočné umenie. Nuž a čo sa týka Christiana Diora, toto bola prvá Haute Couture bez neho. A hoci sa toho toľko popísalo o tom, že značka nie je o ňom, ale o všetkých ľuďoch, ktorí na kolekciách pracujú, pre mňa to bol dôkaz, že Galliano je len jeden a nikto ho nemôže len tak nahradiť. Ani jeho najbližší spolupracovník, ktorý pracoval po jeho boku 23 rokov.

I thought I would share some pictures with you...Honestly, I can't picture a different place in the world where I would feel so inspired to wear colours. Me, whose second first name is Black. And I am telling you, I would take you all there with me if I could!

Myslela som, že sa s vami podelím o týchto pár fotiek. Úprimne povedané, neviem si predstaviť iný kút sveta, kde by som sa cítila tak inšpirovaná nosiť farby. Ja, ktorej čierna je druhé krstné meno. A keby som mohla, vezmem vás tam so sebou všetkých!
