Ray Of Beauty

I am not sure if it's because of the weather right now but I really miss fresh cut flowers. And floral prints. Large blooming flowers on a white backround bring a bold statement to your wardrobe for a day or night out. No matter what season. 

Neviem, či je to momentálnym počasím, ale neskutočne mi chýbajú čerstvo narezané kvety. A tiež kvetinová potlač. Veľké rozkvitnuté kvety na bielom pozadí sú zaručeným spôsobom, ako vyčnieť z radu. Cez deň či večer. A nezáleží pritom na ročnom období.

Tweed. Superior quality and classic taste. You can play it safe and wear a tweed jacket with long boots and rider pants. But how about mix it up a bit and pair tweed with a fur stole and snakeskin accessories? (Imitation snaskin if possible.) Or with a short skirt and cool and original accessories? Just like the girl in the first picture. 

Tvíd. Vysoká kvalita a klasika. Môžete staviť na istotu a skombinovať tvídové sako s vysokými čižmami a jazdeckými nohavicami. Ale čo tak namixovať tvíd s kožušinou a doplnkov s imitáciou hadej kože? Alebo s krátkou sukňou a cool originálnymi doplnkami ako slečna na prvej fotke?

Black and pink-ish... My favourite colour combination right now. But I think you can tell just by looking at design of this blog:) Anyways, this is probably for the first time, I am head over heels for Armani Privé dress from Fall/Winter 2011 collection. And I think that amazing hair, makeup and photography has something "little" to do with it. 

Čierna a ružová-istá ... Moja obľúbená farebná kombinácia. Ale myslím, že to je očividné už len z dizajnu tohoto blogu:) Ale o inom som chcela. Toto je asi prvý raz, čo som úplne namäkko z Armani Privé šiat z tejto kolekcie. A viem, že s tým má čo "málo" dočinenia aj účes, mejkap a fotograf editoriálu.

Round Glasses

It's a legendary shape. One of the recent trends. And I've been looking for a new frame for my specs for  a while. I like them a lot, my only problem is that I see Harry Potter every time when I look in the mirror. Well, I hope these pictures will help me overcome my little phobia. So what do you think about them?

Legendárny tvar. Jeden z momentálnych trendov. A kedže si potrebujem zaobstarať okuliare, začala som si ich obzerať trošku zbližšia. Môj jediný problém je, že keď si ich nasadím, nevidím nič iné ako Harryho Pottera. Aj preto dúfam, že tento post mi pomôže prekonať moju malú fóbiu. Inak čo vy, páči sa vám tento tvar rámov?

Stripe It Rich

Horizontal stripes are not the fashion enemy that they have sometimes been made out to be. If you wear them wisely, you can use them to your advantage. And here is the rule: Darker and thicker stripes make your heavy sections look smaller, and thinner, lighter stripes make your small sections look bigger.

Horizontálne pruhy sú vo všeobecnosti považované za módne monštrum. Nepriateľa postavy. Pravdou ale je, že ich môžete ľahko využiť vo svoj prospech. A tu je to najzákladnejšie pravidlo: Tmavé a široké pruhy dokážu zamaskovať tie väčšie a širšie časti tela, naopak tenšie a svetlejšie prúžky opticky zväčšia to, čoho veľa príroda nenadelila.

Toronto Welcomes Spring 2012

There are shows I don't want to miss no matter what: David Dixon, Denis Gagnon and Jay Manuel. They are all different and yet all have something in common. Their clothes are wearable and affordable. There is not that many fashion editors between us but we still want to look like one - beautiful and stylish. And that's what these three gentlemen always deliver - an amazing everyday chic. 

David Dixon's spring 2012 collection was edgier than usually. Black & white combo is my favourite and also loved all the chains and cuffs. The black evening gown with floral appliqués on the bottom was just absolutely wonderful.

Denis Gagnon's floral print and leather-strap details, bustiers, tuxedo-inspired jumpers and sleeveless jackets looked even better on the models skipping and twirling down the runway.

Jay Manuel brought African Safari to the masses as he introduced his second collection for Attitude by Sears. There wasn't a piece that would really stand out for me but overall the collection was right on trend and better than anything else I've seen in Sears lately. 

Sú prehliadky, ktoré si zásadne nenechám újisť: David Dixon, Denis Gagnon a Jay Manuel. Každá jedna je iná, a predsa majú niečo spoločné: ich oblečenie je nositeľné a cenovo priateľné. Módnych editoriek po svete pobehuje len zopár, čo neznamená, že by väčšina z nás nechcela vyzerať ako ony - úchvatne a štýlovo. Nuž a títo traja džentlmeni ponúkajú presne, to čo potrebujeme - vyzerať šík i v bežný deň. Kolekcia Davida Dixona bola o niečo drsnejšia ako zvyčajne a čierno biela kombinácia je moja obľúbená, ako aj rôzne retiazky a náramky. Dlhá čierna róba s aplikovanými kvietinkami bola rozprávková. Denis Gagnon a jeho kvetinové motívy, kožené detaily, korzety či kabátiky bez rukávov vyzerali ešte atraktívnejšie na modelkách tancujúcich a poskakujúcich po móle.  No a Jay Manuel, svojou v poradí druhou kolekciou pre obchodnú sieť Sears, priniesol africké safari medzi masy. Hoci ma zo sedadla nezdvihol ani jeden kúsok, celkovo to bolo lepšie ako čokoľvek iné, čo som u nich doteraz videla.

GRACE KELLY: From Movie Star To Princess

 She wasn't only one of the most beautiful woman in the world, as well as a talented actress but also an Alfred Hitchock's muse, loving mother and a style icon... I am talking about Her Serene Higness Princess Grace of Monaco who would turn 82 this November. Just two days ago, Monaco's Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended a black-tie reception in Toronto to help open an exhibition dedicated to his late mother. The exhibit is divided into four parts (Ealy Life, Film Career, Wedding to Prince Rainier III. and Fashion&Culture) and it's all about classic elegance and glamour, something so characteristic for Kelly. This extraordinery collection of her artifacts, including jewellry, gowns and personal correspondence, goes on display today at Toronto's TIFF Bell Lightbox.

Nežná a krásna žena, nadaná múza Alfreda Hitchcocka, hviezda hollywoodskeho neba, milujúca matka či módna ikona...To všetko sú charakteristiky spájajúce sa s Grace Kelly, monackou kňažnou, ktorá by sa 12. novembra dožila 82 rokov. Kanadskému Torontu sa dostalo kráľovskej pocty, keď monacké knieža Albert II. a jeho manželka Charlene prišli v stredu slávnostne otvoriť výstavu venovanú jej pamiatke. Celá sa nesie v znamení klasickej elegancie a pôvabu, ktoré boli pre Grace Kelly, princeznú z Hollywoodu, tak neskonale príznačné. Je rozdelená na štyri časti - z obdobia, keď vyrastala, z obdobia jej  hereckej karieréry, zo svadby s kniežaťom Rainierom III., no a napokon na časť venovanú móde. Okrem šiat sú tu vystavené šperky, doplnky či osobná korešpondencia...

Let's Lace It...

It might a bit cold for a dress like this but can't help myself. Such a beautiful vintage bridal lace! I was never the lace type of gal but the older I get, the more I appreciate it. Lace is very womanly and it never really goes out of fashion. It's timeless and delicate. Just remember: avoid wearing jewelery when wearing lace, as this could look over the top. Or maybe wear it with minimum jewelery. And forget the pearls! As for hemlines, try to avoid uneven cuts. You don't want to go medieval times, do you? 

Už je asi chladno na šaty ako sú tieto na obrázku, ale nepomôžem si, taká nádherná čipka! Najlepšie na tom je, že som nikdy nebola na čipkoviny, ale akosi vekom sa môj pohľad na ňu mení. Dostala ma svojou nadčasovosťou a delikátnosťou. Je nesmierne ženská a nestáva sa často, aby vyšla z módy. Nie každá ju vie ale nosiť. Osobne odporúčam nekombinovať príliš so šperkami, ak, tak len s minimalistickými. Vyhýbajte sa radšej perlám. Taktiež divokým a nepravidelným strihom a zakončeniam, ak nechcete pôsobiť ako zo stredoveku.
