Time to summerize 2011. And I have to say, it was not that bad:) The highlights: Meeting Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Dello Russo, Tommy Ton, Rachel Zoe & Oscar de la Renta; attending NY Fashion Week; collaborating with SITA and Top Fashion magazine. And I can't forget about YOU, all my lovely readers and followers. I’m grateful to all of you and would like to say thank you for your support. I know I said this before but really, YOU are the best. Without you there would be no blog. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Nastal čas zosumarizovať rok 2011. A myslím, že nebol až taký zlý:) To NAJlepšie: Osobné stretnutie so Sarah Jessicou Parker, Annou Dello Russo, Tommym Ton, Rachel Zoe a Oscarom de la Renta; zúčastnenie sa prehliadok na New York Fashion Weeku; začiatok spolupráce so slovenskou informačnou agentúrou SITA a časopisom Top Fashion. Nuž a samozrejme nesmiem zabudnúť ani na VÁS, mojich zlatých čitateľov. Posielam veľké ĎAKUJEM, som naozaj vďačná za každého jedného z vás. Viem, že sa budem zase opakovať, ale keď je to pravda - bez vás by nemalo zmysel pokračovať. Nech si každý hovorí o blogovaní čo chce, ja píšem pre vás. ŠŤASTNÝ NOVÝ ROK!!!!!

Staying Warm

The great thing about turtleneck is that it brings your face into focus. Go for solid colours and cozy looking knit. My favourite look? Over a light weight dress for added warmth and style. My most memorable look? Paired with daddy jeans and tennis shoes:)

Skvelá vec na rolákoch je, že upriamia všetku pozornosť na tvár. Odporúčam jednofarebné, pletené a príjemné na dotyk. Môj najobľúbenejší look? Prevlečený cez ľahké šaty. Teplé a štýlové zároveň. Môj absolútne nezabudnuteľný look? V kombinácii s tatkovskými džínsami a teniskami:)

A ako som sľúbila, tu je víťaz vianočného darčeku: Kejmy Tatranská. Gratulujem, dúfam, že poteší, aj keď dorazí zjavne až po Vianociach. Všetkým ostatným ďakujem, že ste sa zapojili. Pre mňa už len skutočnosť, že sa sem radi vraciate, je vianočným darčekom. A keďže som pri predvianočnom upratovaní šatníka ponachádzala ešte aj nejaké iné krasotinky, ďalší giveaway už čoskoro. Jedna z mojích obľúbených supermodeliek pomlčka herečiek. Celé to začalo po zhliadnutí tejto fotky v časopise Harper's Bazaar. Tak silné a jednoducho s-k-vostné!

... Or should I say Big Sister? Let's put it this way: there is certainly something big going on. Trendy or not, I love exaggerated, broad, strong shoulders. I love all the drama that comes with it. Plus let's not forget: when it comes to strong shoulders, the sense of power will always be on the menu. 

...Alebo skôr Veľká Sestra? Tak či onak, veci sa tu dejú nazaj veľké. Trend netrend, idem sa ja utĺcť po všetkom, čo má zveličené, široké či nejakým iným spôsobom zvýraznené ramená. Milujem tú dramatickosť! A aby som nezabudla: s takýmito ramenami sa vždy cítim ako nejaký národný hrdina, pred ktorým majú všetci rešpekt.

Nastal čas na ďalší obdarúnok, milí moji! A kedže Vianoce sú za dverami, chcela som jednej šťastnej z vás podarovať čosi väčšie. Čo tak šaty? Asymetrické, so zvieraciou potlačou. Oficiálne S, no kedže sú strečové, padnú i M-ku. Rafinovaný, akoby zaväzovací, strih napomôže zamaskovať prípadné nedokonalosti. Nuž a napokon je tu ešte fakt, že sú vyrobené v Kanade (nič proti Číne;), mňáááu!

Ladies Who Lunch

There are more and more designers each year that include Resort and Pre-Fall collections in their portfolio. While most of them don't do runway, Oscar de la Renta is different. His Pre-Fall 2012 was more subdued than the show-stopper but yet still very posh looking. Jewel-tones, silk, gold and silver sequins, fur. Very 'Ladies Who Lunch'. 

Každý rok viac a viac návrhárov zaŕňa do svojho portfólia i kolekcie Resort a PreFall. Kým väčšina z nich sa nenamáha s organizovaním špeciálnej prehliadky, Oscar de la Renta je pravým opakom. V jeho Pre-Fall 2012 kolekcii by ste asi márne hľadali nejaké sánku padajúce modely, a predsa bola dokonalá. Nádherné sýte farby, hodváb, zlaté a strieborné flitre, kožušina. Veľmi "pre dámy z vyšších kruhov".

Jessica Stam

Born in Ontario. Discovered in Tim Hortons on her way home from Canada's Wonderland (I can't even imagine how one can look gorgeous after spending a day on the carousel and rides, pff!). Grew up on a farm and wanted to be a dentist. Early in her career, Jessica dyed her hair blond on a whim during one summer and suddenly was cast for 54 shows. Well, who knew? 

Narodila sa v kanadskom Ontáriu. Objavili ju v coffee shope Tim Hortons, keď sa vracala zo zábavného parku (nechápem, ako jedna môže vyzerať tak dobre po všetkých tých jazdách a kolotočoch, pff!). Jessica vyrastala na farme a chcela byť zubárkou. Na začiatku svojej kariéry si len tak prefarbila vlasy na blond a stala sa okamžitým hitom. Zabukovali ju na 54 prehliadok. Kto by to bol povedal?

Introducing the first item on my Christmas Wish List: this book from Jérôme Gautier is all about Chanel pictures, editorials and ads, many taken by the best fashion photographers including Richard Avedon, Gilles Bensimon, Patrick Demarchelier, Horst P. Horst, Annie Leibovitz, Man Ray, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn and Ellen von Unwerth. So inspirational! It identifies key elements that have defined Chanel's style for all those generations, such as jersey and tweed, LBD, pearls and of course Coco's signature camellia. Definitely a buy!


Predstavujem vám prvú z vecí na mojom vianočnom Wish Liste: táto kniha od Jérôme Gautiera pozostáva z fotografií, editoriálov či reklám zachytených objektívmi tých najlepších módnych fotografov ako Richard Avedon, Gilles Bensimon, Patrick Demarchelier, Horst P. Horst, Annie Leibovitz, Man Ray, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn a Ellen von Unwerth. Naozaj veľmi inšpiratívne. Najmä ten spôsob, ktorým sú v knihe identifikované základné a nesmrteľné elementy značky Chanel ako tvíd, džersej, malé čierne, perly, no a samozrejme najobľúbenejší kvet samotnej Coco - kamélia. Jednoznačne prst hore, čo sa kúpy týka!
