IRREVERENT (Rizzoli, $100). This beautiful book by Carine Roitfeld takes pride of place on my coffee table. More than 360 pages of tear sheets, personal notes and photographs chronicle Roitfeld’s work since the early 90s with Tom Ford at Gucci, at Elle and The Face, and with close friend Mario Testino at Vogue. Carine is a fashion visionary and a muse, and always has been. It’s why I like her.
And here some interesting facts you might not know about her:
-  she is quite shy and that's why she has adopted something of an androgynous look;
-  she hates when you compliment her on what she’s wearing - one should compliment a woman for her beauty and not for her clothes;
-  she doesn’t collect clothes;
-  her private life is a lot more ladylike and less sultry than the fashion photos she imagines.

Viac ako 360 strán výstrižkov, fotografií, korešpondencie a poznámok zachýtáva kariéru a život bývalej šéfredaktorky Vogue Paris počnúc 90. rokmi, keď ešte pracovala pre Toma Forda a Gucci, neskôr pre Elle a The Face až po jej spoluprácu s Mariom Testinom vo Vogue. Carine je vizionaristka a múza. Vždy bola. Aj preto ju mám rada.
A ešte zopár zaujímavých poznatkov, ktoré možno o nej neviete;
-  v skutočnosti je veľmi hablivá a aj preto je jej štýl obliekania tak trochu androgyjný;
-  nemá rada, keď ju ľudia chvália za to, čo má na sebe oblečené lebo verí, že žena má byť obdivovaná pre svoju krásu;
-  zásadne nezbiera oblečenie;
-  v skutočnom živote je skôr ženská a nežná a menej vášnivá a zvodná, čo by sa zdalo z fotkiek, ktoré stajluje.
