Basil Soda je meno, ktoré nie je v našich končinách až také známe a preslávené. Pravdou ale je, že už niekoľko rokov prináša na móla Haute Couture v Paríži jedny z najlepších a najprepracovanejších kolekcií. Basil Soda je tiež meno, od ktorého som dostala pozvánku na jeho ostatnú Haute Couture prehliadku...Ďakujem! Tak hrozne ma mrzí, že mi to nevyšlo... You can't really tell how much hard work and detailing goest to Haute Couture from the runway pictures. Just look at these! Aren't they breathtaking? Did you know that one of the Valentino strapless gowns with embroidered beads and adornments took 850 hours to make? And another 1200 hours! That's art.

Z prehliadkových fotiek sa naozaj sa nedá posúdiť, koľko práce sa skrýva za tvorbou Haute Couture. Stačí sa však pozrieť na týchto pár detailných fotiek. Nevyrážajú vám dych? Krajčírkam u Valentina trvala tvorba jedných šiat 850 hodín, ale mali aj 1200 hodinové...Hotové umenie.

We've seen the real show but I think there is still not enough attention paid to those who are behind all these beautiful dresses and countless hours of creating them. Bravo to all dressmakers and seamstresses!

Všetci sme už hádam videli fotky z prehliadky. Zdá sa mi však, že sa ešte stále sa nevenuje dostatok pozornosti tým, ktorí stoja za všetkou tou nádhernou prácou a venujú jej nespočetné množstvo hodín. Bravó všetkým krajčírkam a krajčírom!

The Accent Piece

I haven't posted streetstyle photos in a while. I was going through an 'editorial' phase of my life... Well, it's time to get back on track. Let's start with fur collars. If you want to add something different to the winter dressing, a (faux) fur collar adds both sass and class to your winter coat.

Už dobre dlho som sem nedala žiadne streetstyle fotografie. Prechádzala som si totiž editoriálovou fázou života. Asi tak by som to nazvala. Je však načase vrátiť sa späť do ulíc. A rovno začnime kožušinovými goliermi. Ak túžite po šmrncovnom a zároveň klasickom akcente pre zimný kabát, (umelo)kožušinový golier je jednoznačne tá správna voľba.

Golden Hour

I am sure by this time, you've already seen all the dresses. If not, you are more than welcome to take a look here. What I love about events like this is playing dress up. The right hair, makeup, and clothes can help to bring out your inner glamazon... Just a quick run down of my Best and Worst Dressed: Charlize Theron in Dior Couture, Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann, Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli, Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci. Worst: Lea Michele in Marchesa (her bad hair and makeup ruined the dress!), Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique "Sharpie" Lhuillier (it's an editorial dress not red carpet) and Madonna in Reem Acra (didn't get the chain armor medieval top+skirt). Aaand surprise surprise, I totally loved Piper Perabo in her Theyskens' Theory gown! Some of you might think it's too much for a sittdown dinner but where else would you wear it and have fun with it? I think that dress is perfect for her personality. As it would have been for mine:))

Som si istá, že fotky z včerajšieho červeného koberca už máte dostatočne napozerané. Ak by náhodou predsa len nie, ponúkam vám link. Čo mňa osobne najviac baví na podujatiach takéhoto typu, je tá hra na parádnice. Správne vlasy, mejkap a šaty dokážu zázraky. Z dennodennej reality sa z vás razom stane princezná.... A ešte rýchle zbehnutie mojích najlepšie a najhoršie oblečených dám večera: Charlize Theron v Dior Couture, Tilda Swinton v Haider Ackermann, Kate Beckinsale v Roberto Cavalli a Rooney Mara v Nina Ricci. Najhoršie: Lea Michele v Marchesa (ten hrozný účes a mejkap pokazili celkový dojem zo šiat), Sarah Michelle Gellar v Monique "Sharpie" Lhuillier(to sú šaty do editoriálov, nie na koberec) a napokon Madonna v Reem Acra (komu by sa páčilo mať na sebe vojenskú výstroj s podivnou sukňou?). A prekvapenie? Bola som úchvátená z Piper Perabo v Theyskens' Theory. Pre niektorých priveľa na slávnostnú večeru, kde sa sedí, pre mňa ani náhodou. Kam inam by ste si také šaty obliekli, ak nie na Glóby? Dokonale korešpondujú s jej hravou osobnosťou a nemám pochýb, že by pristali napríklad aj mne:))

Mix It Up!

Don't you think that the rule of wearing one print at a time is boring? Purposely mixing prints is exciting and fresh. Be careful not to choose two prints that are incredibly busy though. You can mix prints that are two different sizes. You don’t necessarily have to stick with one color either. Just make sure the colors are complimentary. Or unify your outfit with a single color or color scheme, and go wild with the prints. This way, you don’t have to fight against your urge to match. 

Nemyslíte si, že pravidlo nosenia zásadne len jedného vzoru je už nudné? Premyslene si nakombinovať rôzne vzory a potlače je vzrušujúce a osviežujúce. Dávajte si pozor pred vzormi, ktoré sú príliš bizi. Najjednoduchšie je kombinovať rovnaké vzory rozličných veľkostí. A ak si predsa len neviete pomôcť s nutkaním po vzájomnom zladení, skombinujte vzory od výmyslu sveta v rovnakej farbe, prípadne rovnakej farebnej schéme.

No matter how many different trends come in fashion, the white shirt has always maintained it's position. Dressed up or down, it will always be nice. And that's why we all should own at least one. 

Nezáleží na tom, koľko rôznych trendov je v móde, biela košeľa si vždy udrží svoje stabilné miesto. Vyčančaná alebo len tak na ľahko, nikdy nestratí svoje čaro. A práve preto by každá z nás mala vlastniť aspoň jednu.
