You can't really tell how much hard work and detailing goest to Haute Couture from the runway pictures. Just look at these! Aren't they breathtaking? Did you know that one of the Valentino strapless gowns with embroidered beads and adornments took 850 hours to make? And another 1200 hours! That's art.

Z prehliadkových fotiek sa naozaj sa nedá posúdiť, koľko práce sa skrýva za tvorbou Haute Couture. Stačí sa však pozrieť na týchto pár detailných fotiek. Nevyrážajú vám dych? Krajčírkam u Valentina trvala tvorba jedných šiat 850 hodín, ale mali aj 1200 hodinové...Hotové umenie.

We've seen the real show but I think there is still not enough attention paid to those who are behind all these beautiful dresses and countless hours of creating them. Bravo to all dressmakers and seamstresses!

I haven't posted streetstyle photos in a while. I was going through an 'editorial' phase of my life... Well, it's time to get back on track. Let's start with fur collars. If you want to add something different to the winter dressing, a (faux) fur collar adds both sass and class to your winter coat.

Už dobre dlho som sem nedala žiadne streetstyle fotografie. Prechádzala som si totiž editoriálovou fázou života. Asi tak by som to nazvala. Je však načase vrátiť sa späť do ulíc. A rovno začnime kožušinovými goliermi. Ak túžite po šmrncovnom a zároveň klasickom akcente pre zimný kabát, (umelo)kožušinový golier je jednoznačne tá správna voľba.

I am sure by this time, you've already seen all the dresses. If not, you are more than welcome to take a look here. What I love about events like this is playing dress up. The right hair, makeup, and clothes can help to bring out your inner glamazon... Just a quick run down of my Best and Worst Dressed: Charlize Theron in Dior Couture, Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann, Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli, Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci. Worst: Lea Michele in Marchesa (her bad hair and makeup ruined the dress!), Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique "Sharpie" Lhuillier (it's an editorial dress not red carpet) and Madonna in Reem Acra (didn't get the chain armor medieval top+skirt). Aaand surprise surprise, I totally loved Piper Perabo in her Theyskens' Theory gown! Some of you might think it's too much for a sittdown dinner but where else would you wear it and have fun with it? I think that dress is perfect for her personality. As it would have been for mine:))

Som si istá, že fotky z včerajšieho červeného koberca už máte dostatočne napozerané. Ak by náhodou predsa len nie, ponúkam vám link. Čo mňa osobne najviac baví na podujatiach takéhoto typu, je tá hra na parádnice. Správne vlasy, mejkap a šaty dokážu zázraky. Z dennodennej reality sa z vás razom stane princezná.... A ešte rýchle zbehnutie mojích najlepšie a najhoršie oblečených dám večera: Charlize Theron v Dior Couture, Tilda Swinton v Haider Ackermann, Kate Beckinsale v Roberto Cavalli a Rooney Mara v Nina Ricci. Najhoršie: Lea Michele v Marchesa (ten hrozný účes a mejkap pokazili celkový dojem zo šiat), Sarah Michelle Gellar v Monique "Sharpie" Lhuillier(to sú šaty do editoriálov, nie na koberec) a napokon Madonna v Reem Acra (komu by sa páčilo mať na sebe vojenskú výstroj s podivnou sukňou?). A prekvapenie? Bola som úchvátená z Piper Perabo v Theyskens' Theory. Pre niektorých priveľa na slávnostnú večeru, kde sa sedí, pre mňa ani náhodou. Kam inam by ste si také šaty obliekli, ak nie na Glóby? Dokonale korešpondujú s jej hravou osobnosťou a nemám pochýb, že by pristali napríklad aj mne:))

Don't you think that the rule of wearing one print at a time is boring? Purposely mixing prints is exciting and fresh. Be careful not to choose two prints that are incredibly busy though. You can mix prints that are two different sizes. You don’t necessarily have to stick with one color either. Just make sure the colors are complimentary. Or unify your outfit with a single color or color scheme, and go wild with the prints. This way, you don’t have to fight against your urge to match.

Nemyslíte si, že pravidlo nosenia zásadne len jedného vzoru je už nudné? Premyslene si nakombinovať rôzne vzory a potlače je vzrušujúce a osviežujúce. Dávajte si pozor pred vzormi, ktoré sú príliš bizi. Najjednoduchšie je kombinovať rovnaké vzory rozličných veľkostí. A ak si predsa len neviete pomôcť s nutkaním po vzájomnom zladení, skombinujte vzory od výmyslu sveta v rovnakej farbe, prípadne rovnakej farebnej schéme.

Time to summerize 2011. And I have to say, it was not that bad:) The highlights: Meeting Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Dello Russo, Tommy Ton, Rachel Zoe & Oscar de la Renta; attending NY Fashion Week; collaborating with SITA and Top Fashion magazine. And I can't forget about YOU, all my lovely readers and followers. I’m grateful to all of you and would like to say thank you for your support. I know I said this before but really, YOU are the best. Without you there would be no blog. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Nastal čas zosumarizovať rok 2011. A myslím, že nebol až taký zlý:) To NAJlepšie: Osobné stretnutie so Sarah Jessicou Parker, Annou Dello Russo, Tommym Ton, Rachel Zoe a Oscarom de la Renta; zúčastnenie sa prehliadok na New York Fashion Weeku; začiatok spolupráce so slovenskou informačnou agentúrou SITA a časopisom Top Fashion. Nuž a samozrejme nesmiem zabudnúť ani na VÁS, mojich zlatých čitateľov. Posielam veľké ĎAKUJEM, som naozaj vďačná za každého jedného z vás. Viem, že sa budem zase opakovať, ale keď je to pravda - bez vás by nemalo zmysel pokračovať. Nech si každý hovorí o blogovaní čo chce, ja píšem pre vás. ŠŤASTNÝ NOVÝ ROK!!!!!

The great thing about turtleneck is that it brings your face into focus. Go for solid colours and cozy looking knit. My favourite look? Over a light weight dress for added warmth and style. My most memorable look? Paired with daddy jeans and tennis shoes:)

Skvelá vec na rolákoch je, že upriamia všetku pozornosť na tvár. Odporúčam jednofarebné, pletené a príjemné na dotyk. Môj najobľúbenejší look? Prevlečený cez ľahké šaty. Teplé a štýlové zároveň. Môj absolútne nezabudnuteľný look? V kombinácii s tatkovskými džínsami a teniskami:)

... Or should I say Big Sister? Let's put it this way: there is certainly something big going on. Trendy or not, I love exaggerated, broad, strong shoulders. I love all the drama that comes with it. Plus let's not forget: when it comes to strong shoulders, the sense of power will always be on the menu.

...Alebo skôr Veľká Sestra? Tak či onak, veci sa tu dejú nazaj veľké. Trend netrend, idem sa ja utĺcť po všetkom, čo má zveličené, široké či nejakým iným spôsobom zvýraznené ramená. Milujem tú dramatickosť! A aby som nezabudla: s takýmito ramenami sa vždy cítim ako nejaký národný hrdina, pred ktorým majú všetci rešpekt.

There are more and more designers each year that include Resort and Pre-Fall collections in their portfolio. While most of them don't do runway, Oscar de la Renta is different. Každý rok viac a viac návrhárov zaŕňa do svojho portfólia i kolekcie Resort a PreFall. Kým väčšina z nich sa nenamáha s organizovaním špeciálnej prehliadky, Oscar de la Renta je pravým opakom. V jeho Pre-Fall 2012 kolekcii by ste asi márne hľadali nejaké sánku padajúce modely, a predsa bola dokonalá. Nádherné sýte farby, hodváb, zlaté a strieborné flitre, kožušina. Veľmi "pre dámy z vyšších kruhov".

Born in Ontario. Discovered in Tim Hortons on her way home from Canada's Wonderland (I can't even imagine how one can look gorgeous after spending a day on the carousel and rides, pff!). Grew up on a farm and wanted to be a dentist. Early in her career, Jessica dyed her hair blond on a whim during one summer and suddenly was cast for 54 shows. Well, who knew?

Narodila sa v kanadskom Ontáriu. Objavili ju v coffee shope Tim Hortons, keď sa vracala zo zábavného parku (nechápem, ako jedna môže vyzerať tak dobre po všetkých tých jazdách a kolotočoch, pff!). Jessica vyrastala na farme a chcela byť zubárkou. Na začiatku svojej kariéry si len tak prefarbila vlasy na blond a stala sa okamžitým hitom. Zabukovali ju na 54 prehliadok. Kto by to bol povedal?

I am not sure if it's because of the weather right now but I really miss fresh cut flowers. And floral prints. Large blooming flowers on a white backround bring a bold statement to your wardrobe for a day or night out. No matter what season.

Tweed. Superior quality and classic taste. You can play it safe and wear a tweed jacket with long boots and rider pants. But how about mix it up a bit and pair tweed with a fur stole and snakeskin accessories? (Imitation snaskin if possible.) Or with a short skirt and cool and original accessories? Just like the girl in the first picture.

Tvíd. Vysoká kvalita a klasika. Môžete staviť na istotu a skombinovať tvídové sako s vysokými čižmami a jazdeckými nohavicami. Ale čo tak namixovať tvíd s kožušinou a doplnkov s imitáciou hadej kože? Alebo s krátkou sukňou a cool originálnymi doplnkami ako slečna na prvej fotke?

There are shows I don't want to miss no matter what: David Dixon, Denis Gagnon and Jay Manuel. They are all different and yet all have something in common. Their clothes are wearable and affordable. There is not that many fashion editors between us but we still want to look like one - beautiful and stylish. And that's what these three gentlemen always deliver - an amazing everyday chic.

David Dixon's spring 2012 collection was edgier than usually. Black & white combo is my favourite and also loved all the chains and cuffs. The black evening gown with floral appliqués on the bottom was just absolutely wonderful.

Denis Gagnon's floral print and leather-strap details, bustiers, tuxedo-inspired jumpers and sleeveless jackets looked even better on the models skipping and twirling down the runway.

Jay Manuel brought African Safari to the masses as he introduced his second collection for Attitude by Sears. There wasn't a piece that would really stand out for me but overall the collection was right on trend and better than anything else I've seen in Sears lately.

Sú prehliadky, ktoré si zásadne nenechám újisť: David Dixon, Denis Gagnon a Jay Manuel. Každá jedna je iná, a predsa majú niečo spoločné: ich oblečenie je nositeľné a cenovo priateľné. Módnych editoriek po svete pobehuje len zopár, čo neznamená, že by väčšina z nás nechcela vyzerať ako ony - úchvatne a štýlovo. Nuž a títo traja džentlmeni ponúkajú presne, to čo potrebujeme - vyzerať šík i v bežný deň. Kolekcia Davida Dixona bola o niečo drsnejšia ako zvyčajne a čierno biela kombinácia je moja obľúbená, ako aj rôzne retiazky a náramky. Dlhá čierna róba s aplikovanými kvietinkami bola rozprávková. Denis Gagnon a jeho kvetinové motívy, kožené detaily, korzety či kabátiky bez rukávov vyzerali ešte atraktívnejšie na modelkách tancujúcich a poskakujúcich po móle. No a Jay Manuel, svojou v poradí druhou kolekciou pre obchodnú sieť Sears, priniesol africké safari medzi masy. Hoci ma zo sedadla nezdvihol ani jeden kúsok, celkovo to bolo lepšie ako čokoľvek iné, čo som u nich doteraz videla.

Just two days ago, Monaco's Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended a black-tie reception in Toronto to help open an exhibition dedicated to his late mother. The exhibit is divided into four parts (Ealy Life, Film Career, Wedding to Prince Rainier III. and Fashion&Culture) and it's all about classic elegance and glamour, something so characteristic for Kelly. This extraordinery collection of her artifacts, including jewellry, gowns and personal correspondence, goes on display today at Toronto's TIFF Bell Lightbox.

It might a bit cold for a dress like this but can't help myself. Such a beautiful vintage bridal lace! I was never the lace type of gal but the older I get, the more I appreciate it. Lace is very womanly and it never really goes out of fashion. It's timeless and delicate. Just remember: avoid wearing jewelery when wearing lace, as this could look over the top. Or maybe wear it with minimum jewelery. And forget the pearls! As for hemlines, try to avoid uneven cuts. You don't want to go medieval times, do you?

Už je asi chladno na šaty ako sú tieto na obrázku, ale nepomôžem si, taká nádherná čipka! Najlepšie na tom je, že som nikdy nebola na čipkoviny, ale akosi vekom sa môj pohľad na ňu mení. Dostala ma svojou nadčasovosťou a delikátnosťou. Je nesmierne ženská a nestáva sa často, aby vyšla z módy. Nie každá ju vie ale nosiť. Osobne odporúčam nekombinovať príliš so šperkami, ak, tak len s minimalistickými. Vyhýbajte sa radšej perlám. Taktiež divokým a nepravidelným strihom a zakončeniam, ak nechcete pôsobiť ako zo stredoveku.

I realized today that I don't have a black purse. I do have one with animal print and one with the sequins (besides other colours) but I can't wear those to work. I have a problem to find a purse that would be more than just an ordinary one. It needs to stand out. Anyways, I was looking for some inspiration and discovered these beauties. I know, these are not black but aren't they great? Plus I am thinking that it would be great to buy a clear one. I would be finally forced to keep everything organized! Ziplog maybe?:)

Dnes som si uvedomila, že ja vôbec nemám čiernu kabelku. Mám jednu čiernu so zvieracou potlačou a jednu posiatu flitrami. Okrem iných. Zjavne ani prvá, ani druhá sa nehodí na bežné nosenie. Ale zase úplne nejakú obyčajnú, čo sa stratí v dave, nechcem. A tak hľadám inšpiráciu, kde sa dá. Viem, že ani jedna z týchto nie je čierna, ale nepomôžem si. Nie sú skvelé? I don't know about you but I was awaiting this moment for a long time. Maybe Slovakia is a small country for it's own mutation of Elle, Bazaar, InStyle (or Vogue:)) but I think we can handle one more fashion magazine. Neviem ako vy, ale ja som čakala na túto chvíľu skutočne dlho. Možno, že Slovensko je malá krajina na svoju vlastnú Elle, HB, InStyle (či nebodaj Vogue:)), určite však nie pre ďalší módny časopis. To, že ma oslovili, aby som bola jeho súčasťou, pre mňa znamená naozaj veľa. Mimochodom, na rozdiel od iných, tento bude vychádzať len dvakrát ročne, takže by som si jeho prvé číslo zadovážila čo najskôr. A dajte mi vedieť, čo si o ňom myslíte. Budem rada.

Music as delicate as a child's music box, a big white carousel with models perched on top of the horses... 47 models and one Kate Moss, to be exact. Louis Vuitton runway show was one of those closing Fashion Week in the capital of France. And man oh man, there was plenty to admire and not only at LV!

Jemná hudba pripomínajúca detskú hraciu skrinku, obrovský biely kolotoč, na ktorého koníkoch sedelo presne 47 modeliek a jedna Kate Moss. Prehliadka Louis Vuitton bola jednou z tých, ktoré uzavreli jarnoletnú sezónu prehliadok v hlavnom meste Francúzska. A že bolo čo obdivovať, a nielen u LV!

Some are very nice, some are very self-centred. Some are there for the love of fashion, some strictly for camera spotlight. Majority of them don't eat or drink anything besides Starbucks coffee and Fiji water. They all look so damn perfect that you suddenly feel like an ugly ducklet. And then you meet some of them (those without a chauffeur) behind the corner happily breathing a sigh of relief as they put on their flip flops. Oh yes, it's a fascinating world to be in. Not mentioning all those fashion shows and a chance to meet and talk to SJ Parker at the Manohlo Blahnik store (yeeeey!) It wasn't easy to watch, take notes, pictures and enjoy it all at the same time. But here I am, sharing pictures from one of my best fashion experiences ever. Hopefully it wasn't the last one:) More here.

Niektorí sú veľmi milí, niektorí zahľadení len do seba samých. Niektorí sú tam kvôli láske k móde, niektorí kvôli bleskom fotoaparátov. Väčšina z nich nič nepije a neje, a keď už aj niečo, tak je to káva zo Starbucksu alebo Fiji voda. Všetci vyzerajú tak neskutočne dokonale, že vás už po dvoch dňoch chytí mierna depresia a cítite sa ako jedno malé škaredé káčatko. A potom ich mnohé stretnete za rohom, ako sa s blaženým výrazom na tvári prezúvajú do šlapiek. Hneď máte k sebe bližšie. Nehovoriac o samotných módnych prehliadkach, či možnosti prehodiť pár viet so Sarah Jessicu Parker v butiku Manolo Blahnika. Veru, svet módy je fascinujúci. A hoci nie je vôbec ľahké pozerať, zapisovať, fotiť a zároveň si vychutnávať celú skúsenosť, rada sa s vami podelím o tých pár fotiek, ktoré zachýtavajú jeden z najlepších zážitkov v mojom živote. Dúfajme, že nie je posledným:) Viac tu.

Karen Walker and her Spring/Summer 2012 collection was a fun one. Very similar to these backstage pictures. Inspired by the 1976 film Taxi Driver, many of the dresses and blouses had 40s feel. Loose silhouettes, off-beat prints and quirky menswear-inspired look. How fun!

Inšpirovaná filmom Taxikár z roku 1976, veľa šiat a blúzok malo v sebe nádych 40.rokov. Voľné siluety, nekonvenčné potlače a tak trochu divoké, mužským šatníkom inšpirované, modely. Jednoducho chutnosť na druhú.

What a week that was! I am still trying to get over it. A lot of walking, a lot of exciting things happening, a lot of fun...Oh and a lot of fashion of course! I've had the time of my life. New York is absolutely amazing city, people are very sweet and helpful and... everywhere! It's a very busy place to be. I feel I would need to write a book to be able to tell you everything. I have this weird crush on Parisian women. French chis it is. This 51-year-old beauty was muse to both Thierry Mugler and Karl Lagerfeld. She thinks fashion is best served with wine over lunch insatead of as a sales pitch. It was her who once inspired what Elle magazine called a “French revolution” when she paired her Levi’s 501 jeans with a conservative Chanel jacket, a look that was copied for years afterward. And she wears flats like no other.

Som posadnutá Parížankami. Tým ich francúzskym chic-om. Táto 51ročná krásna žena bola múzou Muglera i Lagerfelda. Zastáva názor, že móda sa najlepšie servíruje s vínom počas obeda a nie ako sales pitch. Bola to práve ona, ktorá kedysi inšpirovala časopis Elle k tzv. "francúzskej revolúcii", keď si na seba obliekla Levi's džínsy s konzervatívnym kabatíkom od Chanelu, niečo, čo bolo kopírované ženami ešte roky po tom. Mimochodom, nikto nenosí balerínky takým štýlom, ako ona.

I got a bit bored with all the editorials for fall. I keep seeing the same clothes over and over again. So I was happy to discover this one. All Haute Couture. Chanel, Christian Dior, Elie Saab, Armani Privé and others in a classic setting. Great job, Vogue Germany!

Ja viem. Áno, priznávam sa, že na začiatku som nebola nadšená z toho, ako Kate vyzerala ako nevesta. Nech sa ospravedlní to, že pre mňa je Kate Moss odjakživa jedných úchvatným zjavom zo stránok módnych časopisov a tak som asi od nej čakala viac. Every time the seasons change, the malls change with them. Who wouldn't want to sit in the garden right now? Invite some friends over, have a cup of tea...Just make sure you don't fall asleep in the sun because you could easily end up like my friend who has sunglasses tattooed on her face now. Poor baby...My thoughts are with you.

Kto by teraz nechcel sedieť v záhrade? Pozvať si pár kamarátok, dať si s nimi čaj o piatej...V každom prípade si treba dávať pozor, aby sa vám vaše "ľahkomyselné" vysedávanie na slniečku nevypomstilo ako mojej kamarátke, ktorá má od včera na tvári doslova vytetované slnečné okuliare...chúďatko.

There is a reason why I love my silver studded gladiator sandals. You know how much I am into shiny things. Now imagine how excited I was when I saw this vintage YSL skirt. It's heavenly beautiful. And the way Liz has paired it with a bright yellow Zara shirt was a great idea. Looks fresh and glamorous at the same time.

To, že na svoje strieborné vybíjané gladiátorky mám najradšej zo všetkých mojich topánok má dôvod. Veď viete. Prosto zbožňujem všetko, čo sa bliští. Nečudo, že som bola celá bez seba, keď som natrafila na tieto fotografie. Tá sukňa je božia. A to, ako ju Liz dopasovala žltým topom zo Zary bola skvelá voľba. Vyzerá sviežo a glamour zároveň.

There is something calming about this picture. It's like she just got out the shower, combed her hair with the fingers, put a fresh white shirt on and posed for a photographer. White shirt, the most versatile element in your wardrobe. Picture perfect.

Niečo na tejto fotografii je nesmierne upokojujúce. Akoby práve vyšla z sprchy, prehrabla si vlasy prstami, navliekla na seba novú bielu košeľu a zapózovala fotografovi. Biela košeľa, ten najverzatilnejší kúsok v každej skrini. Dokonalosť sama o sebe.
